You can buy a candle anywhere, but where do you go to make your own candle? This place is so cool. It's fun and cheap to make your own candle. They also do glass, where you can do your handprint in glass. I went in by myself but I thought this would be a good place to take my kids for a party. They have tables where you can all sit together and make candles or handprints in a plate (a cool plate too, not like those kits you can buy). The downside is they are moving to Redmond, which is far from where I live. Still, I might take the kids anyway bc it's better than going to yet another arcade or movie.

Waxen Art is an unexpectedly delightful place to make candles. What I love is that you can have birthday parties there or get togethers and make delicious smelling candles with unique styles and colors. This was much more fun than I expected and I hope people will discover this fun little store.

Waxen Art hasn't been around for long, but it's one of those hidden treasures that is so exciting to find. You can make your own candle art - any shape, any color, any scent, with fun accessories that you can add. I call a place like this a two-fer: I get the fun of making something; and the person I give it to enjoys not only the gift they receive, but the customized thought that went into it! It's a little on the pricey side, but lots-o-fun! Kids especially love to watch as their wax creations turn into pieces of art right before their eyes!
